Taiwan day 7

19th May 2010
2nd last day in Taiwan le..time really flies..
1st stop of the day at a store where they sell "Tian Lu"

Mi with a Tian Lu statue..

All the Tian Lu they sells..

The people there will help you calculate the strokes of your names and tell you some details of your fortune..then see if there was anything lacking in your life and introduce you to the tian lu which was suitable for u loh..of course all the aunties and uncles will believe in this and buy..that include my mum and dad of course..

Next stop was the Shilin Official Residence where they showed the home of former president Chiang Kai Shek..

Then we proceed to Martyr's Shrine to watch the hand over ceremony..

The soldier standing very still..he cant move even if there was a fly flying around...

We had a lunch at a very special restaurant..its called Five Dime Driftwood..

The interior was all sculptures and art pieces done by the boss..


There was even a small river inside..

After lunch, we went to a jetty to board a boat to Tamsui Old Street..


Had a walk along the street of Tamshui before we went to Taipei 101..


Last to end the day, we went to my favourite place in Taipei...That's ShiLin night market..

Had all my favourite food there...including da ji pai, guan cai ban, pearl milk tea, etc..

Taiwan Day 6

18th May 2010
Early in the morning, we went to Hualien train station to board a train to Kee Lung..

See the train was at 8am...argh!!!

Inside of the train..



Next stop was the National Center for Traditional Arts..

Its a place where you can see exhibitions of traditional arts like puppetry, folk opera, handicrafts of Taiwan..

We played this game..like the tikam in Singapore..where you poke your finger into one of the slot and take out a token to get the prize..

After that we went to Chiufen for lunch and shopping..

Ru Ruo fan and gong wan tang..

Dessert was fen yuan..very nice..miss it so much now..

Last stop of the day was Yehliu Geopark..

Its a place where there were different kind of rocks and stones..a place with nice views of the sea too..

The stones looked like mushrooms..

They say it looked like an elephant..

Fairy shoe..

And the most famous of all...the queen's head..which might break in the days to come due to the thinning of the neck..

Flower formed naturally on the stones..

The fake Queen's head..just in case the 1st one really break..lol :)

Back to hotel for an early check in before heading to another night market for dinner and more shopping..

Taiwan Day 5

17th May 2010
Another day of scenery..went to the Taroko Gorge National Park to see the nature..


The bridge with 108 lions with different emotions..


Then to the Swallow Grotto..




The external spring shrine..


And the most beautiful place i think for the day was here...

Looks like a landscape painting ya..


A long bus journey again before we reached our hotel to rest..
