Lab outing

I was really lucky to be able to join their lab outing that they had once every yr before i leave..but the worst thing was i had to wake up at 5plus am to get to the company by 6.45am for the coach that bring us to Basel..the journey will take at least 2.5hrs there..

And here we are, at our 1st destination of the day, the THOMY factory. It was one of the factory for Nestle that produce mostly mayo , mustard, tomato sauce, etc..

They had a short presentation on what they do and the mission and other things..

After that, we went for a walk in the factory to see the manufacturing and the packing of these THOMY tubes...
We had to wear the hair net and coats to enter..

It was really amazing to see how the mayo is packed into the tubes and the machines working on the packaging..damn cool!!

2nd Destination: Lunch at Blindekuh..it was a restaurant especially for people to experience eating in the dark..just like blind people..

The restaurant was in total darkness..we were not allowed to bring anything that gave light even watches..we had to put everything into the lockers before entering..

We had to stand in a row..hands onto the person's shoulders in front of u..then the waiter lead the way to our table..it was really scary..it was totally dark...really cant see anything..then the waiter ask for ur hand to lead u to ur seat..even pulling the chair out and sit at the correct position to the table takes a while for mi..

Then the next obstacle was to feel the fork, knife and the glass in front of mi..to know their position so that i don't knock into them..then the next came the mineral water..the waiter fill it for the 1st time then u will have to fill it when its empty..Argh!!! how to do it without overflowing??? OMG!!! anyone know the answer???

Then came the food..which i had a hard time trying to poke with my fork to find it on the plate..then to place the food into my mouth..there were a few misses that the sauce on the food was on the corner of my mouth..argh!! luckily there was no need to cut the meat of the main course if not i dun know how will i be able to do it..

I "think" the starter was a salad, my main course was chicken with hash brown in mushroom sauce, the dessert was tiramisu..

It was amazing how the waiters manage to serve the food in total darkness too..they had to ask questions, wait for our response and touch us to feel where we were sitting and even to clear the plates was really difficult for them too..i can hear Ouch Ouch sound when they bumped into the tables or things that were obstructing them..

And the thing was becos they cant see when they clear the plates and need to touch us to feel the way..i got salad dressing on my arms when they touched mi..when we went out, Petra found chocolate on the back of her shirt too...lol..

We took a very very long time for the lunch..when we were out and then realised that we were eating for about 2.5hrs already..Wah...

It was really amazing..u can really feel the difficulties the blind will have when they eat and move around..its really an incredible experience that i will never forget..

The last destination was Van Gogh's art exhibition in the Kuntmuseum..

Since i am not really an art person..please enjoy the video below(nice song too)..some of the paintings shown in the video were in this exhibition too..i feel really sad for him cos he died at a young age of 37 cos he was mentally ill and he shot himself with a gun to end his life..

Louhans

Today was a public holiday in Singapore..and it was also a holiday for mi. Today is Swiss federal fast Monday..dun know what it for..but anyway was really happy to have the 1st holiday here..

Woke up very early in the morning at 6.30am although it was a holiday..cos another colleague of mine want to bring mi along with her family to Louhans, a small village in France..the journey to there took two and a half hr to reach..so bo pian loh..

We reached there at about 9 plus am and there was an animal market there..the people bought animals to sell..a lot of different kinds of animals..people buy and rear in their farms or as pets or maybe as food...

The way that they packed the animals into boxes were really funny to look at..the animals were all trying to sneak out of the box when they were not looking..lol :)

Then we walked around the area and do a bit of shopping..the things here in France were really expensive..i bought a tshirt which is really cute for Euro 16.90..tat the only thing i bought..

After lunch, continue with a little walking..

Found a shop with my initials..lol..its a shop that sell kitchen furniture..

Then we walked to a nearby dock..where vero and her bf came when they were sailing..

Then we travel back to lausanne for another two and a half hrs..soooooo tired!! i think i woke up too early and my cold was not fully recovered yet ba..

open house of sports complex

Petra is learning Japanese archery at geneva on sat and there is like an open house for pple to go there and learn more abt the sports they have today..so mi and some colleagues went there to have a look and to give support to Petra too..lol..

Here we are...the decoration and the tatami floor is really Japanese style..really cool to see this kind of places in Europe..

Bows that they used

They had a kinda ceremony before they can start practising..

They also had a special guest from the Swiss paralympics archery team..

The bows that the 2 sports used have so much difference...they explained a lot on the bows they used and the different parts of the bow..and of course the demonstration of how the bow works..
Then we had a go on opening the bow without the arrows..and its really difficult in the beginning for mi..after 3 tries, i can open it already..yeah!!

Then after that, we went for a walk outside for some other events...

Horse riding..i really wish i can try that one..

There were a lots of animals too..


Even had a close up contact with a real horse...

Then we went back to some Japanese "Tai Gu" performance..its was really cool...



Then when we were about to go back to Lausanne..the rain came pouring..hate rain..and i was a bit drenched and now had a bit cold now..sian..maybe will take a rest at home tml ba..
